Another diary page for Wednesday February 20th 2013. Showing Great Spotted Woodpeckers drumming,
also a sighting of a Woodcock making its "kwa" call has it was flushed. No signs this year of the
Yellowhammers which were back on territory over near the Rakes by this time last year. The Daphne
Mezereone is in good bud now and will be in flower over the next fortnight. Even in February there
are still plenty of those nasty "deer ticks" about. Met up with Wal from Cumbria Wildlife and his
working party in Lancelot Clarke Storth. |
